Date and Time:

The workshop starts on August 2 in the morning and ends on August 4 in the afternoon. A detailed schedule can be found on the program page.

Conference Fee:

There will be no conference fee.


Registration is closed now.

Welcome Buffet:

A welcome buffet will take place on Thursday August 2.


Lunch will be provided at the conference site.

Conference Site:

The Workshop will take place at the Kirchhoff-Institut für Physik, Im Neuenheimer Feld 227, Heidelberg, from August 2-4, 2007.

Heidelberg is most conveniently reached by train. Please refer to the timetable of the Deutsche Bahn for finding suitable train connections (inlcuding those from other European countries).

For those travelling by plane the most convenient airport should be Frankfurt (Main) from where there are frequent train connections to Heidelberg. These can be found here.
Moreover, there is a bus shuttle service between Frankfurt Airport and Heidelberg. The timetables and more information about the shuttle service are available here.

From the main station in Heidelberg the conference site can be reached with the bus line 32 (direction Kopfklinik) and tram line 24 (direction Handschuhsheim), the appropriate bus/tram stop is Bunsen Gymnasium. The Kirchhoff-Institut für Physik is reached within about 20 minutes from the main station. Directions to the conference site can be found here.


We kindly ask you to arrange accomodation privately. There is a number of hotels of different categories close to the conference site. The Heidelberger Verkehrsverein offers a convenient page for finding and booking hotels. Please note that Heidelberg is visited by many tourists in August. Early booking is therefore highly recommended.
