Vorlesung im WS 2009/10 - Course in winter term 2009/10

Superalgebra and Applications in Solid State Physics
Friday 11:15-13:00, Physikalisches Institut, Philosophenweg 12
Prerequisites: Theory Course on Quantum Mechanics including second quantization
Contents: The lectures are based on a volume of 'Lecture Notes in Physics' which I presently write.
I extend and update the lecture notes on Grassmann variables.
Thus the course will cover: Grassmann algebra, superanalysis, supermatrices, some supergroups, integral theorems on functions of supermatrices invariant under supergroups; path integrals for fermions (and bosons), the dimer problem in 2d, the two-dimensional Ising model, dimensional reduction, application to Anderson localization.
The physics applications will be given as soon as the mathematics is developed and not separately.
Supersymmetry in particle theory will not be covered.
User protected directory for the students with material for the course.
